EU to spread legal costs of attacking Russian assets
“The EU has pledged to spread the financial and legal risks of using Russia’s frozen central-bank assets to fund the government in Kiev, Politico reported on Monday.” Politico via Russia Today, 17 November.
The question arises in my mind, as it should in every citizen of EU countries, why expose yourself to the eventuality of Russia achieving a seminal battlefield victory in the very near future ending the conflict? Surely, the consequences of some sort of action Russia might take against the EU would be painful, to say the least.
At this point in time, with Ukraine’s defeat certain and almost imminent, the wise thing to do would be simply sit back and hope the economic and monetary losses from said Russian victory will not be too severe. And, once that victory comes and Ukraine is no more, how will the EU and UK ever rebuild their economies while having to get by under the present sanctions they placed upon Russia? I believe that will be difficult, if not impossible.
Its time to forget funding Ukraine! Let them go. Take your empty cause to the trash bin and look toward rebuilding your own.
And, so it goes, this 17th November 2025.
